It all began back in 1981, Big Town Hero
was just a twinkle in the eye of a young college student. His idea: to provide
a healthy, better-tasting alternative to fast-food restaurants - a sandwich
shop that served great food with service to match.
Our founder got his experience in the sandwich business in the college town of Corvallis, Oregon. The unique, fresh sandwiches on homemade bread were an instant success. And the Big Town legend was born (although it was known as Campus Hero back then).
Today, Big Town Hero boasts a number of stores throughout Oregon; each with an in-store bakery where we prepare our famous bread from scratch every day. And our numbers are growing as fast as our reputation.

Training & Support
As part of our on-going effort to enlarge upon the BIG TOWN HERO experience,
we have designed a service-focused training program which we share only with
our franchisees called “25 Bits of Wisdom”. It makes heroes of our
staff and they in turn make believers of your customers.
We'll show you how to recruit, select, train, develop and motivate employees to be top performers.
Hero Systems Inc. helps in finding a suitable location by providing you with proven techniques and guidelines for finding one that meets our standards. We also assist you in negotiating the best possible terms, after our representative assesses and approves the proposed location. Our expert staff is available during this important period, to advise you every step of the way. Your attorney may review the lease prior to your signing it.

Our bakers rise with the sun to handcraft bread from scratch, the old fashioned way. We start with bags of flour, sugar, yeast... all of the basic ingredients of great bread. We mix, hand roll and bake our bread right in the store; fresh every day and never day old.

At Big Town Hero, we build relationships with our customers; and it all begins with a name. We've chosen to use names rather than numbers when serving our customers. From the time we take their order to the time they leave, our customers are treated with individual hospitality. Our customers are more like family, in a place "where everbody knows your name."

We have created specialized software to help you run your Big Town Hero store effectively and profitably.
