In 1990, during an adventure through the Alaskan wilderness, our founders journeyed to the top of Sable Mountain. After a strenuous climb, they reached the summit and were rewarded with a sensational view: the boundless mountains, a clear blue sky, and a herd of caribou thundering through the valley.
That was truly the “aha” moment.
The breathtaking panoramic view became the entrepreneurial vision for Caribou Coffee — a company that believes excellence is a product of hard work, and that life is too short for anything else. This vision serves as a guide as we strive to create a special experience for you here at Caribou.

Whether you buy fresh, craft-roasted beans to brew at home, or
a steaming cup that we’ve prepared, you’re receiving
our labor of love: our passion for amazing coffee.At Caribou, we treat our beans right, from start to finish — from selecting the best green beans, to creating blends, roasting, keeping beans fresh, and brewing. At every point in the process, we accept only the highest-quality beans and employ the highest standards, no matter the cost. Lesser brands seek out the least-expensive beans and processing methods. The result of that decision you can guess for yourself.

Try every one of our 22 unique coffee drinks — from light- to dark-roast coffees-of-the-day, to espresso-based drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, and mochas, to branded specialty drinks like our Caramel High Rise, Turtle Mocha, and Mint Condition. Also irresistible are our cold coffee drinks called Caribou Coolers.

Are You a Good Fit for Caribou Coffee Company?
Caribou Coffee is seeking well-qualified domestic and international
developers who share the same values and passion for the Caribou brand
as we do.In order to be considered as a franchisee, you must:
- Live and work in the area you wish to develop and be entrenched in the local business community.
- Have restaurant franchising experience in the area you wish to franchise.
- Have commercial real estate expertise in the area you wish to franchise.
- Commit to a multi-unit development plan, with a minimum of 10 stores. (Specific unit commitment will be dependent upon market area.)
- Have an existing administrative infrastructure and financial resources to support your franchise and build
