Overview
With more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience, the Just Dogs! Gourmet™ team is comprised of experts in the key aspects of franchising, media, marketing, bakery and chain retail operations. We will pass on this knowledge to help you meet the challenges of a growing business such as Just Dogs! Gourmet Franchise.
Products & Services
It all began in August of 1998 when I brought home Lucy, my new Golden Retriever puppy. Knowing that providing treats as a reward was an effective way to train Lucy, I immediately began to search for just the right treats. To my dismay the grocery store shelves were filled with products that contained preservatives and ingredients that I couldn’t even pronounce. I raised my two children on nutritious, homemade meals and I made the decision that Lucy deserved only the best as well.
Over the next several months I developed an assortment of nutritious treats from scratch that my taste-tester Lucy absolutely loved. Soon requests for my delicious treats became more than I could keep up with in my little kitchen. I convinced my daughter to move her dog grooming business to Washington Pennsylvania so that we could open a dog bakery and grooming shop at historic Quail Acres. The rest is history.
Our new shop featured our exclusive dog treats, specialty dog merchandise, a full grooming salon and dog birthday parties on our dog playground complete with cake and ice cream made especially for dogs. To make a long story short, the next five years have been unbelievable. We opened a new 7,000 square foot bakery and home office; we have been featured on the “Today Show” and have been invited to sell our products on QVC. We’ve opened a large number of franchise locations around the nation so that dogs everywhere can experience the treats I developed for Lucy years ago in my kitchen. My motto has remained the same over the years: “Friendship, loyalty and unconditional love deserve only the best”.
Training & Support
Our training program is comprised of the following:
Home Office Business Training
This training is at our national training facility in Washington, PA where you will be instructed on the fundamentals of the Just Dogs! Gourmet™ business as well as general business success skills.
Bakery and Treat Decoration Training
This training is conducted at our Home Office and Bakery in Washington, PA. You and your decorator will learn to master the skills that have made our treats the very best looking treats in the industry
Store Operations Training
Our qualified field staff will be there during store construction, set-up and your Grand Opening to make sure your staff is fully trained to do it the Just Dogs! Gourmet way.
Just Dogs! Administration System
This web-based administration system offers streaming video instruction and various other resources to help you operate your business. You are able to order products, track Frequent Barkers Club™ members, communicate with the home office staff, track store statistics and more.
Point of Sale (POS) Systems Training
This training is available from our technology consultants at your Grand Opening and on a scheduled basis over the internet to maximize your team’s knowledge of this important business tool. This system is custom configured for your store and provides a wide variety of reports essential to the overall management of your business. One of the greatest mistakes often made by new business owners is to not keep track of inventory and expenses, this system will help you master the skill of inventory cost control.

Our franchisees are no different. Together, we are in the business of providing dogs and their owners with the highest quality gourmet dog treats on the market today.
Are You a Good Fit for Just Dogs Gourmet?
The initial franchise term is ten (10) years. You may renew for additional 10 year periods for a small fee of $2,500.
Our experience thus far has shown that it costs between $75,000 and $150,000 to open a Just Dogs! Gourmet Outlet (includes the franchise fee). Again, we stress that these figures can vary depending on the location and type of store (kiosk, in-line or stand-alone store).
The application and approval process can be completed in as little as 30 days. The amount of time it takes to open a store is typically 90-180 days and varies based on several factors. These factors include but are not limited to location selection, lease negotiation, training availability and store build-out.
You must purchase all treats from Just Dogs! Gourmet and all merchandise from approved vendors. We accept recommendations from the franchisees and if the product meets our requirements (quality, price, image), then we may make it available to all franchisees under the aggregated buying strategy
