Overview
BEANER'S
COFFEE was founded in East Lansing, Michigan by Bob Fish and Mary
Roszel with the opening of their first café on March 15, 1995. Due to
Bob and Mary's experience in the restaurant industry and their desire
to serve the highest quality beverages, both quickly and efficiently,
in an atmosphere that customers found warm and inviting, BEANER'S
COFFEE quickly became the brand of choice in the Lansing
area. These qualities remain central to the BEANER'S operating
philosophy and have driven the growth of the company in the years
since. In recent years BEANER'S has expanded into eight Midwest and
Southeastern states, with plans to grow nationwide in the coming years.
BEANER’S COFFEE is a franchise concept, and provides to its franchisees the right to use the BEANER’S logo and other trademarks, drink and food recipes, below-market pricing from company vendors, and the operating system and procedures developed for BEANER’S stores.

Products & Services
Bob Fish and Mary
Roszel first opened the doors to their
new coffee shop, BEANER’S. The store quickly became the premiere
gourmet coffee shop in the East Lansing area, standing apart from
competitors by serving drinks of the highest quality quickly and
efficiently in a atmosphere that customers found instantly inviting.
These three qualities have remained central to the BEANER’S operating
philosophy and have driven the success of BEANER’S in the years since.
A second store opened in October of 1997 in Lansing, MI, one block from the Capitol Building, bringing the World’s Best Coffee downtown. It remains one of the busiest stores in the company and a favorite meeting place for downtown professionals.
The success of both stores led to a decision to begin franchising the BEANER’S brand, and in June of 1998, Global Orange Development, LLC, the franchisor for BEANER’S, was formed by Bob Fish, Mary Roszel, and Michael McFall. The first two franchises were signed early in the following year.

Training & Support
Staff Training
In addition to your own training, you will also send someone through our PERColator training program, which will prepare your employee to train your staff once they have been hired. In the BEANER’S COFFEE system, the store owner/manager is not permitted to be the store’s PERColator, as the double duty can result in diluting your effectiveness as a manager as well as crippling your store’s training program.
Opening Week
During your opening week you will have a member of BEANER’S senior support staff on-site to help smooth out any wrinkles and answer questions as they arise. We believe your comfort as an operator has a direct impact on your success.
Continued Support
Following your store opening, you will continue to have access to members of our support team for any other questions you may have. We want to be available to you!

Why Beaner's Gourmet Coffee?
BEANER'S
COFFEE will assist you in securing a proper store location. You will
receive demographic data on a typical BEANER’S customer as well as a
site selection form. These two tools, coupled with your knowledge of
your trade area and your diligence and energy in tracking down property
leads, are critical to your success finding a property. BEANER’S will
do an “in market” evaluation of your area before the site selection
process even begins. When you have several promising leads, we will
provide specific analysis on those locations leading to final approval.
BEANER’S will refer you to our design and build firm who will take your store from the drawing table all the way to your Grand Opening. The equipment, furniture, and fixtures come in a package from a supplier.
BEANER’S COFFEE has an annual promotions calendar for in-store marketing of beverages, food items and merchandise. All designed to grab your customer’s attention. BEANER’S also designs and develops advertising materials for direct mail, billboards and print media, as well as radio commercials.
