Overview
Over the years, Steamatic has built a reputation as a leader in the carpet cleaning industry with proprietary equipment developed by our founders. However, as you can see, carpet cleaning is not the only business opportunity with our System. In offering multiple revenue centers, any seasonal effects that a service may have can often be offset by demand for another service.
In today's environment, business and financial issues must be innovative in order for our franchise base to grow. Steamatic offers a comprehensive program of training, support and in-house research and development of proprietary equipment and chemicals. We also offer some of the most affordable financing packages in the industry and what few others do -- market area exclusivity, not just exclusivity by zip code.

In October 2006 Bill Sims purchased Steamatic, Inc and its subsidiaries from BMS Enterprises, Inc. Bill Sims, President said “I have had the privilege of working with the Steamatic franchise owners for over 20 years. Steamatic has had a long history and proud heritage, and I appreciate the efforts that others have given in the past to help build this company. A Commitment to Service
In 1948, two Fort Worth businessmen decided to start a carpet cleaning business. From the beginning, it was obvious that their company, Blackmon Mooring, would be different…innovative. Bill Blackmon and Scott Mooring built a reputation of high standards and reliability that soon made them the leaders in the cleaning and restoration field.
As their market expanded, an idea formed to sell their unique approach to cleaning through franchise opportunities, enabling people around the world to take advantage of their experience and knowledge. In 1967, Blackmon and Mooring formed Steamatic, Inc. to market franchises featuring this unique, new cleaning method. Combining their years of experience with this new cleaning technology, Blackmon and Mooring were able to provide a valuable opportunity to franchisees.
In 1967 Steamatic applied for, and was granted its first U.S. Patent. It involved the Steamatic hot water extraction method of cleaning carpets. Since then, Steamatic has been granted 21 additional patents in the United States, Australia, Britain, Canada, France, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Spain and Switzerland. Our continual commitment to research and development, innovation, and the system has been a foundation for growth in our franchise operations.
Steamatic continues to grow, and is now being directed by Bill Sims. We currently support over 400 franchise territories in the US and have franchises operating in 25 countries around the world. In Europe and some other countries Steamatic franchises operate under the name BMS Technologies.

The expansion of our long-standing contracts within the billion-dollar insurance restoration industry has made our franchised units some of the most productive operations in the industry.

Mold removal is a fast growing service in all areas. Training is the key for our companies. We have established collaboration with faculty at Duke University Medical Center to provide us with an excellent standard for both training and consulting in microbial remediation.
Steamatic franchisees are professionally trained to handle restoration projects of any size, from small residential to large commercial and industrial. Each franchisee can receive additional support for large projects through our affiliate company, BMS Catastrophe, an international company specializing in large scale and community-wide disaster recovery. No job is ever too large.
