Overview
The original plan
was to open near military bases, as they knew that's where the biggest
demand was. It was soon apparent that the entire Southeast loved Sub Sandwiches!
Sub Station II's reputation for good subs quickly spread. From big towns to small, everyone wanted to "Dive into the taste of Sub Station II". But, rather than roll out new franchises as fast as possible, Don chose to service his existing franchises, ensuring quality and strengthening Sub Station II operations for the long haul.
Once Sub Station II was convinced of its future, it moved ahead cautiously. By the end of 1977, there were thirteen stores in operation or under construction in strategic locations in South Carolina and three in Georgia. These locations helped Sub Station II gain market awareness, build valuable supplier relationships and establish uniform appearance and operational standards. Sub Station II was for real. Since then, several franchisees have purchased additional units, attesting to their confidence in Sub Station II's future.
Today, Sub Station II has over 80 locations from South Carolina to California, Kentucky to Georgia, and points in between. But, rest assured, there is plenty of room for expansion. With Sub Station II's formula for success, it's just beginning to move in a direction that will undoubtedly make it one of the major restaurant chains in the future.

Sub Station II offers a multitude of selection: over 23 different sandwiches, as well as chef salads, gyros, desserts, potato salad, potato chips, cakes and more.
Product Freshness.
Each sandwich or salad is prepared to order using only the finest, freshly sliced meats, cheeses and produce. Our bread is baked by experts in New York then flash frozen, thereby providing our customers with the finest quality and fresh bread taste in the industry.
Sub Station II offers the nutritional information for it's sandwiches in 3 formats:
- The sandwiches made the original Sub Station II way - with lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and oregano. A truly tempting taste treat.
- The sandwiches made Lite, with no Cheese or oil, but with the rest of the above. These are lower in fat.
- The sandwiches made as a Salad, with no bread or oil, but with a package of salad crackers. The nutritional amounts from the various dressings are not included in this information. These are lower in carbohydrates.
Each serving is for ½ of our special made New York Style Hoagie Roll, approximately 6".
None of Sub Station II's famous sandwiches come with Mustard or Mayonaisse, but they are available upon request.
