Coyote Canyon
Franchise Overview
All-you-can-eat steak buffet brand from Stockade Companies; the last Coyote Canyon restaurant has closed and the brand is no longer franchising. Maintained for historical and research reference.
Coyote Canyon was an all-you-can-eat steak buffet concept launched in 1999 by Stockade Companies of Round Rock, Texas — the multi-concept restaurant group behind Sirloin Stockade (dating to 1966 in Oklahoma City) and Montana Mike's Steakhouse. Coyote Canyon offered steaks, chicken, and steakburgers prepared on a display grill alongside hot and cold buffet lines, soups, salads, and a full-service bakery, positioned as a casual, low-price family concept. At its height, Stockade Companies operated dozens of restaurants across multiple states and Mexico under its combined brands, with Coyote Canyon franchised as part of that system.
The Coyote Canyon brand was gradually wound down as the buffet segment contracted, and the last remaining Coyote Canyon restaurant has closed. The parent company remains in business, continuing to operate its Sirloin Stockade and Montana Mike's locations, but Coyote Canyon no longer operates as a franchise system and is not accepting franchise inquiries.
