Overview
Great Canadian Dollar Store was established in 1993 by founders Bud and
Vivian Walker. Their vision was a network of bright, clean, friendly
dollar stores - a place where you would want to take your mother or
your grandchildren. Together with their family and energetic
representatives across Canada, they succeeded in building a successful
network of franchised stores.
When Bud decided it was time to retire, he looked to his son Kevin to take his place at the helm of Great Canadian Dollar Store. Kevin was already actively involved in the business and shared the values and ethics that his parents had always used to guide the company. The succession has been seamless and Great Canadian Dollar Store still focuses on the value of family and the Prairie ethics of hard work, neighbourliness, and honesty.
With stores across Canada from Victoria BC to St. John's NL to Whitehorse YK, our new Franchise Members receive: site selection assistance; our specialized 3P's® training; store format and initial inventory consultations; access to our negotiated supplier discounts; access to opportunity and group buys; and ongoing regional and home office support.
We have provided support and purchasing power without diminishing the initiative and entrepreneurial spirit of our franchise members since 1993. We have a strong network to help you succeed: our home office team in Victoria BC and regional representatives in Alberta, Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
